Up and about....

After my last entry last night I returned to the hostel and chatted to some folk there. A stunning girl from the UK who seems to be much in the same possition in her life as I am in mine. She got fed up with her life and packed it all in for a year of travel around the world. She is heading up to Boulder here in Colorado today and will stay there overnight. Then she is off to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. You can see ahe has her head screwed on right and is a self supporting woman. There was also a girl from Sweden, only twenty years of age and she has that young eager outlook on life. She has taken a break from her studies and is traveling the states. Everything is 'wow' to her and she is very interested in diffrent parts of the world. Then there was the chap that was on night shift at the hostel and he has been here most of his life. If I am not mistaken he is originally from Serbia or some similar european country. He too has travelled a lot and loves the food and hospitality industry. The one other person there was a 'healer' who comes around to the hostel every wednesday to 'cleanse' the hostel of negative spirits and things. I am not nieve to these matters but keep my distance as they dabble in a darker side of life that is not befitting my being.

We chatted about America and our home countries and then made the fatal mistake of discussing politics. Now I have a policy surrounding discussions and that was [until last night] never discuss politics, religion or family disputes under any circumstances. Well we did and it went alright but the outcome was agreed by all that America can be a bully at times but essentially they have their advantages to interfereing with other countries. I tried in vain to illustrate that everything is motivated by money. There is always an advantage for the person or persons to get involved in foreign politics as the motivation to get involved is not humanatarian alone. Obviously there are exception to the rule, but their budgets are minimalistic compared to what we watch on the broadcasters medium. It is a fact of life and for America to spend one point five billion dollars a month to fight a war that seems to be lost already. But as they pointed out to me the people in Iraq have had a taste of freedom, and that I sappose is a big motivator in their favour. America supported that regime in the seventies and now? Anyway here I nearly step into my own trap of expressing views regarding a taboo subject.

But it was nice and we chatted till twelve o clock and made our way to bed. All seperately by the way.
